Congratulations to DeeAnn Daniel for being selected as the SHS Staff Member of the Week! Ms. Daniel sets high expectations and then works to help students meet those expectations. She goes above and beyond to be a positive impact on her students. She supports her fellow teachers and is a real asset to the Sheridan School District. Way to go Ms. Daniel!
The SHS JROTC will have a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 5 p.m. The event will be held at the American Legion B-17 Veterans Memorial Park and is open to the public.
SHS Families - We will have make-up school pictures for grades 9, 10, and 11 on Mon, Nov 14. 9th-11th grade virtual students can also come for school pictures this morning.

SHS HOSA Officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference yesterday. Students got to tour the New York Institute of Technology and Osteopathic Medical school at ASU in Jonesboro.
SHS is excited to announce we will be hosting a Hispanic Family Night on Thurs., Nov. 17th at 6:00 PM in the SHS Cafeteria. Dinner will be served at 6:00 followed by informational sessions for families, including college admissions and Canvas how-tos. We hope you can join us!

Congratulations to Matt Scarbrough for being selected as the SHS Staff Member of the Week! Mr. Scarbrough inspires not only his coaching staff and student-athletes to give their all, but all of our students and staff. He is always in the stands, on the sidelines, and even in the classroom showing his support. Mr. Scarbrough is the model of service to this district. If it involves celebrating students, he is all in. He is a huge advocate for all students!
SHS is excited to announce Aaron Webb & Randi Scarbrough were named the high school winners for the National Heisman High School Scholarship! These student-athletes were nominated by coaches & selected by the state committee. They will also be considered for the state award.
SHS Students in Mrs. Lewis's AP US History class took on the roles of state delegates and debated key issues of the Constitutional Convention! Prior to today, students researched and prepared arguments based on the stance of their delegates. Everyone did a great job!

SHS FBLA attended the District III Fall conference this week. The SHS chapter received special recognition for their completion of the Summer Starter part of the Champion Chapter award and also participated in the Miracle Minute to raise funds for Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
SHS Students from Mrs. Stevens' & Mrs. Newberry's classes started their monthly community service project at Crown Point Retirement Center. The students gave out goody bags, played games, and listened to the residents share stories. These students are engaging all of YJ Nation!
Members of the Sheridan school board Jody Spann, Jeremy Orman, Jan Caldwell and Wade Crosswhite visited Sheridan Middle School last week for lunch in the cafeteria and a tour of the school, including several classrooms. The tour was led by SMS Principal Deborah Mooney and students Lillian Baker, Jackson McNair, Aubrey Otten and Annslee Young. Also joining the group were SSD Superintendent Dr. Karla Neathery and Deputy Superintendent Lincoln Daniels. #YJNation #StrongerTogether
Sheridan High School will host a Financial Aid Night on Tuesday, Nov. 15. The event will be held in the SHS cafeteria and will begin at 6:30 p.m. This will be an opportunity for parents and students to obtain important information related to the financial aid aspect of college planning. The guest speaker for the evening will be Mrs. Lavonne Juhl, college planning services manager with the Arkansas Student Loan Authority. #YJNation

Congratulations to Mr. Gregg Scott for being selected as SHS Staff Member of the Week! Mr. Scott demonstrates the SSD's slogan, "Inspire. Empower. Serve." by motivating band students in 7th-12th grades to apply music to all aspects of their life. Mr. Scott serves the community along with the band by performing at sporting events, parades, pep rallies, and numerous other functions. Mr. Scott demonstrates what a good staff member is and is an outstanding role model for all students and his peers. His dedication to the students under his care and to the student body is exceptional. Way to go Mr. Scott! #StrongerTogether
The Sheridan Yellowjackets lost 43-7 in their Homecoming game Friday night against the Marion Patriots. The Jackets will be on the road this week, playing at Greene County Tech on Friday. They'll return home Nov. 4 for Senior Night against the Benton Panthers. Let's keep supporting our Yellowjackets! #YJNation
