SHS Homecoming Week Day 4 is Pep Rally Day! The band played, cheer & dance performed, and we had more Class Olympic Games, including the finals of dodgeball -- the Juniors won in double OT!
The Homecoming Ceremony & Parade will be tomorrow afternoon.
Day 3 of SHS Homecoming Week! Class Olympic Games continued today with Dodgeball, Water Balloon Toss, Tug-of-War, and the finals of Baggo. The Seniors are currently in the lead on the medal count. It has been a great week so far!
Congratulations to the JROTC Department for being selected as the SHS Staff Members of the Week! SGM Dean & LTC Easter are always there to serve. They allow students freedom to attack their assignments in a variety of ways. The maturity & attention to detail shown by JROTC student leadership is an outstanding example of Dean & Easter's work.

SHS band members were the ushers for the first concert of the 2022-2023 season for the Little Rock Winds on October 13. SHS Band Director, Gregg Scott, is a percussionist in this group.

Mr. Keen has selected Charlie Kinser as SHS Staff Member of the Week. He says Mr. Kinser has demonstrated the SSD Slogan, "Inspire. Empower. Serve." by working with our students and providing opportunities to learn and operate the newest technological equipment in our district. He is kind and patient with students who are just learning the equipment. Way to go!
SHS - Students from Mrs. Newberry & Mrs. Stevens' classes partnered together last week to fill orders of their “Pink Out” snack mix! Special thanks to central office staff for putting in a huge order, too! This project was completely student led and made. School-based work jobs like these help students learn essential life skills for life after high school. #StrongerTogether
SHS Choir had several students make the All-Region Choirs this weekend. 5 students made the SATB Choir which is the top choir in the Region and those students qualified to audition for the All-State Choir in January. Jess Hicks, a senior, was awarded 1st chair Soprano 2! The other students selected will be representing Sheridan High School at the all-region choir clinic held at Bryant High School on November 12th. Way to go!

Mrs. Rich’s Food Production class from SHS traveled to SIS to receive tomatoes from Mrs. McGinley’s 5th grade students. They will use the tomatoes in salads and to make a pickled relish. #StrongerTogether

SHS National Honor Society is sponsoring Think Pink for this Friday's home football game. We hope the YJ Nation wears pink to the game and helps support breast cancer awareness and research!

The SHS Lady Jackets Volleyball team has selected Rachel Pfenenger as their Student Choice of the Week! Team members presented Mrs. Pfenenger with a shirt and thank you notes.
The SHS Volleyball team had their annual Teacher Appreciation Night last night. Each player selected a former or current teacher they wanted to recognize with a small gift and personalized note. We love our teachers! #StrongerTogether
