April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, and Friday, April 19 is "Purple Up! For Military Kids" in the Sheridan School District, underscoring the important role military children play in the armed forces community. Wear purple on Friday, April 19 to show support for our military students and families and their strength and sacrifices.
Due to weather, there are multiple changes in today's athletic event schedule. Softball that was scheduled for today was played yesterday. Today's baseball games at Pine Bluff, ninth-grade track meet at Lake Hamilton, and boys soccer match in Sheridan have all been canceled.
The Sheridan School District needs bus drivers. We need you. Bus drivers in our district now make between $20-$28 per hour. And it's one of few part-time jobs anywhere with health insurance available along with retirement benefits, all while working just 3-4 hours per day on average during the school year. Nights, weekends, holidays and summers off. When your kids are out of school, so are you! You can only drive a morning route? We can use you. Only an afternoon route? We'll sign you up. You don't want a long-term commitment but could drive on occasion? We'd love to have you in a substitute driver pool. We'll even help you with all the training you need to get your CDL if you don't already have one. Call us today! 870-942-5522. Your district needs you. #YJNation #GreatPartTimeJob #DriveABus #HelpSomeKidsGetToSchool

In front of a great home crowd, the Lady Jackets shut down the Lady Trojans 5-0 last night, after tying 2-2 in Hot Springs in their previous meeting this season. Haven Rhoden scored three goals, while Olivia Jabo scored once on a PK and a goal. The defense of goalkeeper Chloe Smith, Sara Taulbee, Carley Hancock, and Lilly George kept a clean slate! This team continues to improve, with back-to-back conference wins!
The Yellowjacket boys' soccer team held Hot Springs scoreless in the second half in action last night. Unfortunately, the weren't able to overcome three Hot Springs goals in the first half. The Trojans got the win, 3-0. Good effort, Jackets!
With a double-header victory (15-0, 20-0) over Hot Springs last night, the Lady Jacket softball team improved to 17-0. They are now ranked No. 13 in the nation by USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association, and ranked No. 1 in Arkansas by Sports Illustrated/SBLive. The USA Today teams are chosen "based on performance, roster quality, and strength of schedule." #YJNation #BeADifferenceMaker
University of Arkansas Chancellor Dr. Charles Robinson and other members of the UA team visited Sheridan High School on Wednesday to speak to a group of high school students. (They even brought the Razorbug!) Accompanying Dr. Robinson and also speaking to students were Dr. Suzanne McCray, Vice Provost for Enrollment and Dean of Admissions; Megan Garland, Associate Director for Arkansas Recruitment; and Erin Sanders, Admissions Counselor for Southeast Arkansas. SHS College and Career Coach Stephanie Smith helped organize the event.
It's always great to have the top Razorback on campus!
Haven Rhoden scored four goals and Olivia Jablonski scored one, as the Lady Jackets took a 5-1 win at Texarkana yesterday. The defense kept the Razorbacks out of the goal for most of the game.
Some Sheridan High School FCCLA students competed in a culinary and baking competition on March 29 at Pulaski Tech Culinary School. We are so proud of their accomplishments!
Todd-Paul R. Taulbee, Kai Herring, Olivia Jabo, Logan Hammond, and Coach Carson Ayers did a great job representing the SHS soccer program at the Sheridan Rotary club meeting today!
