KATV will bring their “Road Trippin’ across Arkansas” series to Sheridan tomorrow, broadcasting their 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts from Yellowjacket Stadium before Homecoming festivities and the game. There will be live interviews with Sheridan Superintendent Chad Pitts, Athletic Director Rick Treadway, Sheridan senior Avery Williams and SHS junior Skylar Sterritt. There’ll also be special appearances by the Yellowjacket band, dance and cheer.
Many thanks to KATV’s Daniela Dehaghani who was in town today to interview Sheridan’s Charlie Kinser and Mason Fisher about the YJStore and the school’s awesome audio-visual program. Their stories will air tomorrow during the newscasts. Sheridan High School's Juliet Taylor (College & Career Coach) and Amanda Coleman (Registrar) took a small group of students to Henderson State University for a private tour.
During the tour, they had the special opportunity to be guided by two former Sheridan High School students, Zoe Mayberry and Hillary Wilson, who are currently attending Henderson State. They provided great insights into the campus life and shared their experiences as former Sheridan students now pursuing their studies there.


Sheridan School District Superintendent Chad Pitts and school board member Jacob Palmer were among the participants who volunteered to be "dunked" during Timberfest this weekend. The dunking booth was a fundraiser for the Grant County Young Professionals Network, a recently formed, local organization operating under the Grant County Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Wolfe’s campus is doing great things. In September alone, the campus received a $500 donation from Masonic Lodge #260, honored Students of the Month, and celebrated National School Janitor's Day with Ms. Brittany. #YJNation #ChooseJoy

Vicki Strong (SHS counselor), Kaitlin Raines (SHS counselor), Nick Steele (SHS counselor), Amanda Coleman (SHS registrar), Christy Daniels (ALA/SMS counselor), and Juliet Taylor (College & Career Coach) attended the UA-Little Rock Counselor Luncheon on Friday, October 4.
The group brought back six $1,000 scholarships to be awarded to Sheridan High School seniors who attend UA-Little Rock next school year. SHS will take an additional 30+ students to Discover UALR Day on October 31 where the school will also have the opportunity to obtain more scholarships!

The Annex celebrated Ms. Cindy today for National School Custodian Appreciation Day! The Sheridan School District has some of the very best, and we appreciate all that you do.


The “Be Pro Be Proud” mobile workshop was at Sheridan Middle School last week, providing SMS students an opportunity to test their skills in a simulated environment for a number of high-demand, high-wage trades. “Be Pro Be Proud” is an initiative of the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and the Associated Industries of Arkansas to bring a new generation of pride, progress and professionals to Arkansas’ skilled workforce. #YJNation #ChooseJoy

Sheridan High School Food Production students had their first catering event of the year. They provided breakfast and lunch to the Arkansas State Engineering department. A-State traveled to SHS for their roadshow and provided information to SHS students interested in engineering. #YJNation #ChooseJoy

Congratulations to our senior Yellowjacket tennis players who were honored last night prior to the start of their matches against Hot Springs. Senior Night activities included words from Coach McCall Dail about each player, gifts presented by their teammates, photos and the National Anthem performed by the senior tennis players. Sheridan Elementary School hosted members of the district's Board of Education, administration, and the Arkansas General Assembly today for lunch from the SES cafeteria and group discussion. SES Principal Dr. Lindsey Bohler and Assistant Principal Morgan Wilson later led the group on a walk-through of some classrooms.
