East End Intermediate has received the Arkansas Farm to School grant, allowing us to now have a school vegetable garden. 5th grade students are responsible for taking care of the garden, with Mrs. Easley overseeing their work. We're excited to grow fresh foods here on campus, allowing our students to learn how to care for a garden as well as enjoy eating the fruits (or should we say vegetables) of their labor!
Last Friday, the 5th grade students at East End Intermediate enjoyed a presentation on the Earth's continents, oceans, and regions from the Children's Museum of Louisiana. Thank you to the Drax Plant in Leola for an incredible learning experience!
Last week, East End Intermediate participated in Red Ribbon Week and celebrated our 1st Nine Weeks Reward. Thank you to PTO for providing popsicles and Lil' J's for bringing the Sno' Cone truck.
East End Intermediate is committed to developing a culture of learning and a passion for reading. Over the past few weeks, we have given away a lot of books to students who signed up for the book raffles at our first ever Wilderness Read. Congratulations to our book winners!

CKH Classes of the Month had the opportunity to select which animal Dr. Binz would kiss. Today, Dr. Binz fulfilled that promise in front of the entire school. We're so proud of our students and the empathy they showed throughout the month of September.
Thank you to Austin Guyot, Arkansas FFA Eastern District Vice-President for helping out in the assembly. We always appreciate older students teaching about their love for agriculture and being a mentor to our younger students. Thank you also to Arkansas FFA Ag-In-Action for providing the animals today.
Thank you to the East End Fire Department for talking with our EEI students today about fire safety. October is Fire Safety Month. We always appreciate our local departments' support of our campus.
This week at East End Intermediate, students received certificates for their NWEA growth. Additional certificates were awarded to students with the highest growth and highest score. We're very proud of their growth and effort!
East End Intermediate's first Wilderness Read was a great success last night! We enjoyed seeing all our families, talking books, eating s'mores, and learning about local creatures you can find in the wilderness. Thank you to the East End PTO (s'mores and water; East End Fire Department (fire safety tips); Saline County Sheriff's Department (Kid Print ID); and our East End Middle School friends Laura DePriest, Jody Williams, and Misty Ingram (local creatures) for coming out and supporting our students.
East End Intermediate wants to give a HUGE shout out to Tractor Supply in Sheridan for donating the items necessary to start our first vegetable garden. Thank you so much for supporting our school!
Mrs. Hardin's 3rd grade class, at East End Intermediate, welcomed back Mrs. McConkie for a fun lesson on "Fall Plowing" by Grant Wood. It features an original John Deere plow and allowed us to learn about farming with a local farmer and her goat, Betsy Ross.

East End Intermediate wants to give Ms. Kaylen a HUGE shout out for all the hard work she does to keep our building clean. Kaylen is the daytime supervisor for all custodians but has been additionally working on our campus since the start of school.

East End Intermediate had a lot to celebrate yesterday during our Monthly Morning Meeting! Attendance at school is vital to learning! We've had a lot of students with perfect attendance during this first quarter of school - 3rd grade: 41, 4th grade: 44, and 5th grade: 43. Thank you for being at school each and every day!
