The Yellowjacket baseball team are shown celebrating their 11-8 victory over White Hall last night. Gabe Kuttenkuler and Landen Feimster both hit home runs. The Jackets will play again on Monday at Crossett and on Tuesday at home against Texarkana.

There are a limited number of pre-K openings remaining at both Sheridan Elementary School and East End Elementary School. They will be filled on a first-come, first-qualified basis. For pre-K, a child must be 4 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2023. The pre-K classes are funded through Arkansas Better Chance for School Success and have specific guidelines as to which students qualify for services. This program serves 4-year-old children from families with gross income not exceeding 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Congratulations to the Sheridan girls' track team for winning yesterday's Yellowjacket Relays, beating teams from Lake Hamilton, White Hall, Cabot, Jessieville, Sylvan Hills, Hot Springs, Little Rock Christian and Fountain Lake. In boys competition, Sheridan finished fourth. Sheridan's Skylar Sterritt won the High-Point Award for girls, and the Yellowjackets' Iziah Owens tied for High-Point Award for boys. Congratulations to the 17 Sheridan High School juniors and seven SHS seniors who were inducted into the National Honor Society on Sunday. The four pillars of membership into National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership and character.

Congratulations to Yellowjacket senior Brooklyn Rowe for scoring her 1,000 career point in a second-round state playoff game on Friday against West Memphis. Brooklyn is also in the running for the Scorebook Live Player of the Week after scoring 39 points in the first round against Little Rock Christian, including eight 3-pointers, and 14 against West Memphis. A shuttle from East End Middle School will not be provided for the upcoming cheer clinic scheduled for March 13-16 at Sheridan High School. Parents will need to make arrangements to get their cheerleaders to SHS by 4:00 p.m. on the days they are attending the clinic. There will be a shuttle provided at 5:30 p.m. at the arena to take students back to East End.
