Students in Mr. Seaton’s and Mrs. Edwards' classes worked collaboratively in pairs on popcorn advertisements. As a special treat, Mrs. Edwards showed students how to make freshly popped popcorn.
Unity Day is a national day to pledge to end bullying. Several students and staff members at SIS wore orange on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in support of Unity Day and to take a stand against bullying.
In honor of School Bus Safety Week and to show appreciation for all of their hard work, Jacket Health and Wellness team members dropped off a few cases of water bottles for our school bus drivers this week. Thanks for all that you do to for our students!

It's the best show in town ... the Sheridan School District "Band Night" will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Yellowjacket Stadium. All the bands in the district, grades 6-12, from East End and Sheridan will gather for the performance. Sheridan High School students Ruth Quero and Mason Reid participated in Film Camp this summer hosted by Joey Travolta and several other veterans of the film industry. Earlier this month, they attended the Film Camp Premier to debut the films they created at camp. Both are students in Ms. Dammann's Transition class.
Participants learned about career opportunities in the film industry and learned skills associated with the film industry and video production. Over the course of one week, students learned to use industry equipment as well as everyday technology to develop and produce short films.

The Yellowjacket football team plays Little Rock Catholic Friday at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The following is information that Yellowjacket fans who plan to attend the game may find useful.
Directions for parking: Take the Fair Park exit off Interstate-630, heading north past the Little Rock Zoo. As you pass the stadium, turn into the parking area at the north end – this is the only entrance. Parking is $5 per vehicle, charged by War Memorial Stadium. Fans from both teams pay the same.
Ticket sales: Tickets may be purchased for $5 cash at the gates. As soon as online ticket information is made available, it will be shared.
THERE IS A CLEAR BAG (purse) POLICY. Fans can check the War Memorial Stadium website for other stadium policies.
Seating: Sheridan fans should sit on the south side of the 50 yard line.
It is suggested to arrive early, as parking and traffic can back up quickly. Go Jackets!
