The 5A-South conference track meet was held in cold, rainy conditions on Tuesday at Hot Springs Lakeside, and the Sheridan High School students listed below qualified to compete in the state track meet. For the second week in a row, SHS senior Aaron Webb has broken another school record. This week, at the Lake Hamilton relays he set the new school record in the 400-meters with a time of 49.35.
The Sheridan High School Chamber Choir received a Division 1 superior rating at today's state festival at UCA. Because they received all superior ratings at the region and state levels in performance and sight reading, they are also Sweepstakes winners. Congratulations!

On Thursday, April 6 at the Lakeside Invitational track meet, Aaron Webb broke the Sheridan school record in the 200-meter that was previously set in 1998. Aaron’s 200m time to break the record was 21.73. He also won the 100m dash with a time of 10.76.

The Yellowjacket boys' soccer team beat Texarkana 3-1 in a home match yesterday. They two teams play again Friday at Texarkana. Sheridan plays at home on Tuesday, April 11, against Pine Bluff. Great job, Jackets!

Sheridan High School teacher Charlie Kinser and two SHS seniors, Brady Ingram and Jonah Williams gave a presentation today to the Sheridan Rotary Club about some of the CTE offerings at the high school. The group was invited and introduced by SSD board member Jacob Palmer. Ingram spoke about what he has learned about graphic design and how he intends to use those skills in the future. Williams discussed the retail operations and student involvement in the Yellowjacket Store located in the arena.
On April 4 each year, National School Librarian Day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment. The Sheridan High School FBLA chapter attended the State Leadership Conference this week. Students attended breakout sessions, networked with students from around the state, and completed in different competitions. Congratulations to the three students who placed in their competition and qualified for Nationals: Bryson McDougal, fourth in Networking Infrastructure; Rylie Raymick, third in Personal Finance; and Shoshiana Vang, third in Word Processing.
