The Yellowjacket football team plays Little Rock Catholic Friday at War Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. The following is information that Yellowjacket fans who plan to attend the game may find useful.
Directions for parking: Take the Fair Park exit off Interstate-630, heading north past the Little Rock Zoo. As you pass the stadium, turn into the parking area at the north end – this is the only entrance. Parking is $5 per vehicle, charged by War Memorial Stadium. Fans from both teams pay the same.
Ticket sales: Tickets may be purchased for $5 cash at the gates. As soon as online ticket information is made available, it will be shared.
THERE IS A CLEAR BAG (purse) POLICY. Fans can check the War Memorial Stadium website for other stadium policies.
Seating: Sheridan fans should sit on the south side of the 50 yard line.
It is suggested to arrive early, as parking and traffic can back up quickly. Go Jackets!
The Sheridan High School Student Council had an opportunity to visit and eat lunch with members of the Arkansas General Assembly today. (From left to right) Senator Alan Clark, Representative Julie Mayberry, Senator Matt Stone and Senator Ben Gilmore attended the "Take Your Legislator to School" event. The group was also provided a student-led tour through the Kohler Academy, FACS classroom and the YJNation retail store. The event also included a question-and-answer interactive session between students and legislators. The Yellowjacket tennis team participated this week in the 5A-South conference tournament at Lakeside. Five Sheridan players finished among the top four in their respective categories and will advance to the state tournament next week. Nathan Uptagrafft and Joel Petty finished second in boys' doubles, Jett Spann placed fourth in boys' singles, and Natalie Szeflinski and Courtney Mayberry finished fourth in girls' doubles. #YJNation #BeADifferenceMaker
The Sheridan High School counselors, career coach, and counseling director recently attended a Counselor Luncheon at UA-Little Rock. They each brought back a $1,000 scholarship for a Sheridan High School graduate who plans on attending UA-Little Rock next fall as an entering freshman. Representatives from UA-Little Rock’s financial aid and admissions office were in attendance to share information about the opportunities they have to offer on their campus.
Jacksonville has cancelled the JV football game this evening. Sheridan vs. Jacksonville seventh-grade will be the only game tonight.

SSD families: If you have not completed the Free and Reduced Meal Application for the 23/24 School year please complete it at this link: https://sheridanschools.rocketscanapps.com/ or contact the school for a paper copy. The applications from last year expire on Friday, Sept. 29. Anyone who has not completed an application for this year will lose benefits if a new application has not been submitted for processing.

The Sheridan JROTC participated in the Watson Chapel Invitational Color Guard competition on Saturday, along with 12 other schools. The male Color Guard team (River Studer, Noah Long, Anthony Bates and Hector Aguilar) took first place, beating Little Rock Catholic by two points to win the male division. The Sheridan JROTC finished in third place overall. This was a great day for the Sheridan Cadets who performed excellent against some of the top teams in the state. For those who may be interested in substitute teaching, there will be free training for the Sheridan School District on Thursday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The training will be held at the District's Central Office (400 N. Rock, Sheridan).

Mrs. Prater’s third-graders at EEI created a 9/11 Remembrance Quilt to culminate their learning on the 22nd anniversary of the historic event.
East Union Missionary Baptist has partnered with Hunters Feeding the Hungry as sponsors of the snack stick program for the schools in the East End community. To clarify the junior high volleyball schedule for this week … Sheridan (7-8-9th grade) will play at home tonight vs Jacksonville as originally scheduled. Sheridan junior high volleyball will be away Tuesday night at Joe T. Robinson due to their schedule change. The Robinson game was originally scheduled for Thursday and has been moved to tomorrow. Also, please be aware that Joe T. Robinson is encouraging online ticket sales for the Sept. 12 junior high volleyball match against Sheridan. Online tickets through GoFan are $5.
