Fall Senior Night activities for Sheridan High School senior students who participate in football, band, JROTC, golf, tennis, and cross country will be Friday, Oct. 27 prior to kickoff of the Yellowjackets' football game against Greene County Tech. Kickoff will be 7 p.m., and the Senior Night ceremony will start at approximately 6:30. Escorts of students participating will need to be at the south end zone of the football field by 5:45 p.m. Escorts and athletes not in uniform are encouraged to wear business casual attire for the ceremony. The Sheridan Theatre Arts Department will present its fall show line-up, The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon, a one-act play, and three readers' theatre performances that include The Titanic, Gruff!, and The Planetary Adventures of Flint Baker and the One-Eyed Monster Men of Mars. The show will be Thursday, Nov. 2, and Saturday, Nov. 4 at McKenzie Hall Auditorium. The Box Office opens at 6:00 p.m., the doors open at 6:35, and the show begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $3 for students with a school ID and $5 for general admission. All proceeds go to the Sheridan Theatre Arts Department to support theatre education in the Sheridan School District.
The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon is produced by the Theatre 2, 3, and 4 students and Sheridan Thespians. The evening will feature the work of over 100 students in grades 8-12. They will compete on Nov. 10 at Searcy High School against schools across the state in the Thespian One-Act Play Festival.

Students in Mr. Seaton’s and Mrs. Edwards' classes worked collaboratively in pairs on popcorn advertisements. As a special treat, Mrs. Edwards showed students how to make freshly popped popcorn.
Unity Day is a national day to pledge to end bullying. Several students and staff members at SIS wore orange on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in support of Unity Day and to take a stand against bullying.
In honor of School Bus Safety Week and to show appreciation for all of their hard work, Jacket Health and Wellness team members dropped off a few cases of water bottles for our school bus drivers this week. Thanks for all that you do to for our students!

It's the best show in town ... the Sheridan School District "Band Night" will be Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Yellowjacket Stadium. All the bands in the district, grades 6-12, from East End and Sheridan will gather for the performance. Admission is free, and the performance starts at 6:30 p.m. Come enjoy the show and support your YJNation band members!

Sheridan High School students Ruth Quero and Mason Reid participated in Film Camp this summer hosted by Joey Travolta and several other veterans of the film industry. Earlier this month, they attended the Film Camp Premier to debut the films they created at camp. Both are students in Ms. Dammann's Transition class.
Participants learned about career opportunities in the film industry and learned skills associated with the film industry and video production. Over the course of one week, students learned to use industry equipment as well as everyday technology to develop and produce short films.
