Sheridan Athletic Director Rick Treadway presented the Lady Yellowjacket softball team with the 5A South conference championship award yesterday. The presentation was made prior to the softball Senior Night ceremony. Sheridan finished the regular season 24-2- overall and a perfect 16-0 in conference play. They will play Van Buren in the first round of the state playoffs on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Harrison. Go Lady Jackets!

National School Nurse Day was established to foster a better understanding of the role of school nurses in the educational setting. Thank you to all our school nurses!
Sheridan baseball Coach Mike Moore was honored today in front of a large Senior Signing Day crowd at Yellowjacket Arena. Moore was presented a plaque/clock commemorating his 700th victory as a head coach -- a milestone reached earlier this season. Sheridan Athletic Director Rick Treadway made the presentation.

With their 7-1 win over Texarkana on Friday, the Lady Yellowjacket soccer team qualified for the Class 5A state tournament. They will play Siloam Springs in the first round on Thursday, May 9 at Hot Springs Lakeside. Go Lady Jackets! (Pics are from Friday's win.)
The Sheridan varsity boys' soccer team saved the best for last. The Yellowjackets took care of business Friday night, beating Texarkana 5-1 on Senior Night. Jordan Vang scored two goals, while Javone Mims, Jayden Beeson, and Caleb Harrison each scored a goal for Sheridan. It was a great way to close out the season! Way to go, Jackets! The doors of the Fine Arts wing at SMS will be open from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on May 6. Take a stroll down the Fine Arts hallway at your leisure and view student artwork. Everyone is invited to attend: faculty, staff, students, parents, family and friends. Please come and help us honor the hard work and growth of our talented artists! Mrs. Todd's class would like to thank Shelby Taylor Trucking and Trayvis Todd for a hands-on learning experience about the importance of reforestation and protecting the environment we live in. A lot of eager little students are ready to learn more about Natural Resource Management and Forestry.
Also, a big thank you to the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and ArborGen nursery. The students were excited about being able to take home both a hardwood and a pine tree to plant.
The Yellowjacket softball and baseball games scheduled against Texarkana at home have been cancelled due to field conditions. Instead, Sheridan will play softball and baseball at Hot Springs tonight. The softball Senior Night activities will be held on Tuesday, May 7.

The Sheridan High School choirs performed their Spring Concert last night at McKenzie Hall. They performed their competition songs and a few added fun songs to end the school year.
May 3 is national School Lunch Hero Day, which provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide healthy meals to our students. School Lunch Heroes are the ZEST! 🍋 To celebrate #SchoolLunchHeroDay, let's give a shout-out to all our heroes in the Sheridan School District sharing their passion, and making cafeterias a happy place for our students!
The Sheridan High School Class of 2024 will hold its Signing Day ceremony on Tuesday, May 7 at Yellowjacket Arena. Parents are invited and will need to enter through the arena doors and sign in at the arena lobby. Doors will open at 8:15 a.m. for guests to sign in, and the event starts at approximately 9:00 a.m.
This event is for all Sheridan seniors with plans to go to college, trade school, military, workforce, etc., after graduation. Let's support our graduating Yellowjacket seniors!
