The Sheridan High School Theatre Department is pleased to announce the results of the Arkansas Thespian One Act Play Festival. Sheridan students received the rank of Superior and were invited to Showcase their play at the State Thespian Festival on February 8-10, 2024. All State Cast Nominees are Tucker Dowler, Ellie Dorey, Austin McCann, Gracelynn Neal, Dalton Summit, Alex Johnston, Emily Wise, and Heidi Jenkins.

On November 9 at Searcy High School, SHS Thespians competed with the Brothers Grimm
Spectaculathon by Don Zolodis. The wild, free-form comedy evokes audience participation and madcap fun. Two narrators attempt to recreate all 209 fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in a fast-paced extravaganza. The Sheridan Theatre Department and Sheridan Thespians serve students 7-12. Sheridan Theatre Department is dedicated to advancing students and their work on stage through acting, designing, writing, and leadership.
The Sheridan Theatre Department plans to produce several plays this Spring. In late February, Theatre 1 students will produce an evening of one-act comedy plays. In early April the Advanced Theatre Class and theatre students throughout the Sheridan School District will put on Alice in Wonderland written by SHS students Alex Johnston, Tucker Dowler, Zoe Newcomb, Heidi Jenkins, John Pfeneger, and Vinnie da Silva. Finally, in May the entire department will come together one last time to produce more student-written Ten-Minute plays from grades 7-12.
The Arkansas State Thespian Society is affiliated with the Educational Theatre Association and the International Thespian Society. Thespians are an honorary organization for junior and high school theatre students.
