East End Intermediate had an ATLAS Testing Pep Rally last week. The Pep Rally included SHS Drum Line, skits by teachers and students focused on testing, and games/competitions. 5th grade students won the spirit stick!
This week, we will have our final tests - NWEA Map Growth. Teachers and students have put in tremendous work all year long and we're excited to see the growth of student learning this year!
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. We want to celebrate our fabulous teachers at East End Intermediate! The East End PTO has scheduled theme days for next week to show support to our teachers.
Fourth grade students, at East End Intermediate, during Foundational Fridays are working in groups to determine the area and perimeter of their house plans.
East End Intermediate is so thankful to have two amazing secretaries. These ladies are the heart of our school. We couldn't do what we do without them. Thank you, Mrs. BJ and Mrs. Amber for all that you do!
East End Intermediate students in Mrs. Whitehead's 4th grade class participated in a classroom scavenger hunt where they had to not only find all the words hidden but place them in the correct category on their list of sounds that they hear.
Third grade at EEI received a visit from Mr. Kenton Adler, Director of Advancement for Scottish Heritage at Lyon College, who played the bagpipes. They extended their learning with Scottish culture, folklore, and Mrs. McConkie shared snacks from Scottish culture. It was a great day!
Last Tuesday, East End Intermediate hosted a STEAM Night. Parents and students enjoyed an art gallery showcasing student work throughout the year and various STEAM activities. Thank you to all the volunteers who came to run informational booths for parents. We appreciate your partnership and support!
On Monday, East End Intermediate celebrated our students and staff who received Certificates of Appreciation and who best demonstrated the CKH Word of the Month for March - Courage. Congratulations to all who were recognized! The CKH Word of the Month for April is perseverance.
East End Intermediate's 4th grade students, in Mrs. Potter's class were given numbers that belonged in the partial product method for multiplication. They had to solve the given problems given and place their numbers in the correct place on the anchor chart. Then, they challenged if they thought something was in the incorrect place.
The EEI Third and Fourth-grade Quiz Bowl team competed in the regional spring tournament in Pine Bluff today. The students’ combined efforts brought home the third runner up trophy! Congratulations to these students for their effort and sportsmanship!

East End Intermediate wants to give a HUGE shout out to Deputy Fashank for always ensuring we're doing everything possible to keep our students safe. Deputy Fashank spoke with students at our last Monthly Morning Meeting to remind them about not opening exterior doors for adults, distinguishing between the different types of holds (hold, secure, & lockdown), and the importance of practicing drills as if they were real.

Mrs. Hardin's class at EEI enjoyed another art and musical visit from Mrs. McConkie. This month, students were each given a different piece of art and asked to compose a piece of music that described it. They did a wonderful job!
Students and staff at EEI celebrated students, classes, and staff members that best demonstrated the CKH Word of the Month for February - Kindness. The CKH Word of the Month for March is Courage. Courage gives us the strength to try something difficult or new. We encourage everyone to stand up and be courageous this month!
We are so proud of all our East End Intermediate students that showed growth on our recent NWEA Map Growth Assessment. We had a total of 353 students who showed growth between the fall and winter assessments - 3rd grade: 130 students; 4th grade: 104 students; 5th grade: 119 students.
The students pictured had the highest growth or highest score from their grade-level. Congratulations to all!
For the month of January, East End Intermediate had 145 students with perfect attendance - 3rd grade: 40 students; 4th grade: 49 students; 5th grade: 56 students. Congratulations to 5th grade for having the most students with perfect attendance last month!
East End Intermediate celebrated Valentine's Day last week. We loved seeing all the creativity from our students!
On Monday, East End Intermediate celebrated the students and staff who best modeled the CKH Word of the Month - Respect. All CKH Classes of the Month (Ms. Rea's, Mr. Spann's, and Mrs. Easley's classes) were all nominated by two or more teachers. A HUGE shout out to Mr. Spann's class who was nominated by six teachers in total for their continuous growth and modeling of respect, all throughout the building!
The CKH Word of the Month for February is "Kindness." We look forward to celebrating all the acts of kindness during our next Monthly Morning Meeting.
