
We are down to the last week of the semester, but we still have a lot happening this week at East End Intermediate. Students will be working on community service and fun projects tied to our state learning standards all week. We also have our 2nd quarter reward and class parties on Friday (12/20).

East End Intermediate hosted a Holiday Family Night last week. Thank you to our special guests Santa and the Grinch for joining us in games, picture taking, Christmas book readings, hot cocoa and cookies, and ornament making. We loved spending time with families, enjoying the laughter and fun!





East End Intermediate's third grade music performance, "It's Christmas Everywhere!" was this Tuesday. Thank you to all the families who joined us and thank you to Ms. Burris for all her hard work and effort!




We hope you had a great weekend and look forward to the events ahead for this week. We will kick off the events on Monday with our first groups of students shopping at the Penguin Patch, with the rest of the students continuing throughout the week. The 4th grade EEI Quiz Bowl Team participated in the regional tournament at ARESC. The team won three of their five games and increased their total point score by 10 or more each game. Their sportsmanship was incredible!


The 5th-grade EEI Quiz Bowl Team competed with nine other teams in the fall regional tournament at ARESC on December 4th. The team won four out of their five games and were awarded fourth place. They represented themselves and EEI well and were recognized twice by the staff for their respectful and polite behavior.


COMMUNITY PARTNER SPOTLIGHT - Thank you, East End Baptist Church, for volunteering your time every morning to help make the car drop off process at EEI safe and efficient. We appreciate your time and dedication supporting our school!


East End Intermediate welcomed students back to school today, starting with our Monthly Morning Meeting to celebrate all nominated for recognition for their demonstration of the CKH Word of the Month (teamwork) for November. Thank you to Kash Lybrand who led our Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem. Congratulations to all who received recognition for their performance of teamwork last month!




We are so excited to see students back in the building tomorrow (12/2). We look forward to seeing our EEI families over the next few weeks at our Holiday Family Night (12/3), School Wide Spelling Bee (12/6), 3rd Grade Music Program (12/10), and Classroom Christmas Parties (12/20). At East End Intermediate school, Deputy Fashank celebrated today with the winners of the Flamingo search. Deputy Fashank has hosted this school-wide competition for the past two months in order to increase students' and teachers' awareness of surroundings. Congratulations to our winders Ms. Rea's class and Mrs. Jones's class!

Coin Wars was a huge success this year! East End Elementary and Intermediate raised $2,900 for Thanksgiving food boxes. On Tuesday, 50 boxes were packed, and East Union staff helped to deliver the boxes between EEE and EEI. Thank you to our East End PTO and East Union for your hard work and dedication, ensuring that our students and their family's needs are met.



East End Intermediate participated in an Art Contest for Red Ribbon Week sponsored by Grace Health Service. Congratulations to our winners!

East End Intermediate 4th graders placed first place in the Fall Chess Tournament yesterday at Arkansas River Educational Service Cooperative. Avlyn Jaggars placed 1st place overall and Wyatt Ritchie tied for 2nd place. Congratulations to the team!

On Monday, East End Intermediate celebrated the 53 students who received positive office referrals during October. The CKH word of the month for October was self-direct. We recognized all students nominated as CKH Students of the Month by their classroom teachers, classes nominated as CKH Classes of the Month by staff, and staff members nominated Staff of the Month by students.




We have a busy week ahead with our Monthly Morning Meeting, Coin Wars, and ATLAS Interim Testing. Let's help our students get a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast to help them do their best. Remember to send pictures for our Veteran's Day presentation. Make plans to join us for the Veteran's Day breakfast at EEM and the parade to follow.

In East End Intermediate's music classes this week, 4th and 5th graders became composers! They created a rhythm and then added sound to the rhythm using pumpkins hooked up to a Makey Makey board.

The EEI Chess Team competed in the Spooktacular Chess Tournament held at Benton's River Center on Tuesday. Students played several games against students from Benton, Poyen, Harmony Grove, Bauxite, and Lake Hamilton to determine first through fourth place winners.
