Today we celebrated our seniors who made a commitment to #reachhigher after high school! Students who will be furthering their education signed the #Classof2019 banner along with their selected university/institution/military branch. The banner will be displayed at graduation.

Check this out! Alex Smith, recent Sheridan graduate, is still inspiring us! He won 3 gold medals at the Special Olympics meet this month. He lifted 405 lbs. and bench pressed 225 lbs., totaling 630 lbs. Way to go, Alex!

They won! They won! Team Sheridan won the 2019 Girls of Promise Tech for Good Competition for their “Arkansas College Calculator.” This computer program helps students find specific scholarships they are eligible for in Arkansas based on their GPA and ACT score.

Mrs. Summit's students have been hand sewing teddy bears for Heroes and Angels, a group that provides non-medical assistance to families affected by childhood cancer and to military families in need. Today, they presented 85 teddy bears to Brandy Bullock, a Heroes and Angels representative.
Mr. Rasnick, the new Sheridan Middle School principal, had a great 1st day thanks to all the Yellowjackets who gave him a warm welcome. He is working alongside Mrs. Gray, the current SJHS principal, for the remainder of the school year to help ensure a smooth transition into the 2019-20 school year when the junior high will split into two middle schools. We are grateful to have him in #YJNation, and we look forward to welcoming, the new East End Middle School principal, Mrs. Lupe, on May 1. Ms. Botti’s 1st grade class constructed a 3D shape city today like construction workers. The class has been working on identifying 3D shapes for their math unit. They have also been discussing maps for social studies this week, so they created a map to go along with their city!
Congratulations to Coach Mike Moore and the Yellowjacket Baseball team! Their win over Malvern 9-1 last night marked Coach Moore's 600th career varsity baseball win. He has been coaching the Sheridan High School Yellowjackets for 33 seasons and has had many great players and assistant coaches over the years who were a huge part of this great accomplishment! #YJNation
