Mrs. Burnett's AP Environmental Science class recently enjoyed bruschetta using the basil they grew in their hydroponic gardens. The hydroponic kits were purchased with an AP materials grant from the Arkansas Department of Education. Students enjoyed being able to taste the fruits of their labor.

Jayden Harris, a 5th-grader at East End Intermediate, earned first place in the ARESC chess tournament playing against 7th- and 8th-grade students from neighboring schools. Jayden has been "playing up" with the EEM chess team sponsored by Jody Williams.


The Yellowjacket track team competed in the Ram Relays at Lakeside yesterday. Highlights included Sophia Allen winning the girls' high point honors, and Aaron Webb qualifying for state competition in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. Allen won the long jump and triple jump, placed second in the pole vault, and was sixth in the discus. Webb won the 100-meters in 11.03 seconds and finished first in the 200-meters in 22.52.

Sheridan High School senior events have been scheduled.

Sheridan Middle School Career Development students recently worked on their architectural and construction employment skills by making an architectural draft and creating models with different mediums.





On Sunday, March 13, eight seniors and 26 juniors were inducted into the Sheridan National Honor Society. During the ceremony, the current National Honor Society officers and members were recognized for their outstanding community service projects and volunteer efforts performed during the current school year. Despite still battling COVID restrictions this school year, NHS orchestrated many large community events such as Think Pink and the Canned Food Drive. Following the graduation of the 2022 seniors, the new inductees will take over the NHS Sheridan High chapter and continue to serve the community.
2021-2022 NHS members include: Hunter Campbell, president; Kailey Thurman, vice president; Zoe Mayberry, secretary/ treasurer; Alexis Szeflinski, reporter; Jodi Barnes, Mason Fisher, Wyatt Lester, Caleb Patrick, Renee Pye, Ruthie Reaves, Mary-Keaton Render, Valie Stevens, Abby Stockton, Jordan Thomas and Catherine Williams.
