SSD Families:
Governor Asa Hutchinson announced today that the face mask mandate in Arkansas has been lifted effective immediately. However, the Arkansas Department of Health, the Arkansas Department of Education, and the district’s COVID-19 Task Force still strongly recommend that we continue all the COVID-19 safety protocols, including the face mask requirement, through the end of the school year. The health department also issued today a detailed End-of-Year COVID-19 Guidance for Schools document. Click HERE to read the full document.
As per the document, the Sheridan School District will be required to create a plan that identifies safety measures for teachers, staff, and students for the final quarter of the school year. We will be required to post a summary of this plan to the website by April 15. The plan will address whether or not we will continue, modify, or eliminate our current face mask requirement and other safety protocols. Until then, WE WILL CONTINUE all of our COVID-19 safety protocols.
We appreciate you and your children for your continued support and cooperation through this pandemic. Together, we can finish the school year strong and make every day count.
