Dear Parent(s):

We have recently implemented a new notification system for the high school called SHS Info. We are excited about this system, as it will make it easier for us to keep in contact with your family.

The system is integrated with our Home Access Center data so no sign-up process is required. As long as we have your correct contact information on file, you will receive our messages.

SHS Info will be used to notify you about important deadlines and events pertaining to high school activities. This system will not replace SSD Alerts, which is currently being used to notify parents about district-wide information, such as school closings and emergencies. If you have not already, you can sign up to receive SSD Alerts by contacting LaurenGoins@sheridanschools.org.

SHS Info also will be used to notify you when your student is absent from school. Each morning your student does not report to school, you will be notified by voice and/or text message of his/her absence. These messages will begin going out the week of Jan. 15.

Text messages will be sent from the number 989-01. Please note you will not be able to reply to these messages. Voice calls will come from the number 501.712.2633.  Since most people prefer to receive messages by text, we will limit voice calls to absence notifications and urgent matters.

We hope you appreciate the new SHS Info communication tool. We implemented this system in response to the feedback we have received from parents asking for a better way to stay up-to-date on school activities. As with any new system, there may be some bugs to work through in the beginning. We appreciate your patience as we move forward. If this notification system is successful at SHS, the Sheridan School District will implement it at the other SSD campuses next school year.

If you have any questions or need to update your contact information in our Home Access Center database, please contact our office at 870.942.3137.

Sincerely,

Rodney Williams
