Girls' volleyball and basketball tryouts originally scheduled for Thursday, May 16, have been moved to Monday, May 20 at 3:30 p.m. This affects 8th/9th grade volleyball and 7th grade basketball.

The Sheridan Lady Yellowjackets play Beebe for the state softball championship at 7 p.m. on Thursday at UCA, and we want to turn Conway into a SEA OF BLUE! When our girls look into the stands, we want them to see all their supporters wearing blue. Below are some other important things to know before you go.

All game tickets are now available for purchase online. Tickets are good for the entire day at each location for state title games. Example: If you purchase a baseball ticket, you will also be allowed entry into softball and soccer as long as you receive a wristband at baseball. Be sure to ask for a wristband if you want one. Sheridan High School choirs hosted a “Mommy and Me Royal Tea Party” fundraiser Mother’s Day weekend. The sold-out event featured performances, photos, manners and etiquette lessons, and dancing with favorite princesses and friends from animated films. And -- of course -- tea and treats. Mrs. McConkie, the choir director, would like to thank everyone who attended and donated generously by giving of their time, talents, and bringing items for the event.

Girls basketball tryouts for next year's 7th-12th graders will be next week, with 8th/9th grade on May 13, 10th-12th on May 15, and 7th grade on May 16. (Note: the senior high tryouts are still subject to change.)
Volleyball tryouts for the 2024-25 season will be held soon. Varsity will be May 22, incoming 8th/9th will be May 16, and incoming 7th-grade will be May 13-14. Varsity tryouts will be in Yellowjacket Arena from 3:30-5:30 p.m., and middle school tryouts will be at the Sheridan Middle School gym from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
The Sheridan Lady Jackets trailed for much of the game, but gave a gutsy peformance and downed Maumelle 3-2 in extra innings today in the second round of the Class 5A state softball playoffs. They now advance to face the winner of Greenwood vs. Valley View in the semifinals. That game will be at 12 p.m. tomorrow in Harrison. Go Lady Jackets!

The Lady Yellowjacket softball team (25-2) defeated Van Buren 8-1 today in the first round of the Class 5A state playoffs. With the victory, Sheridan advances to the second round tomorrow against Maumelle (22-6-1) , which beat Searcy 4-0 today. Starting time for that game will be 12 p.m. Go Jackets, take State!

Sheridan Athletic Director Rick Treadway presented the Lady Yellowjacket softball team with the 5A South conference championship award yesterday. The presentation was made prior to the softball Senior Night ceremony. Sheridan finished the regular season 24-2- overall and a perfect 16-0 in conference play. They will play Van Buren in the first round of the state playoffs on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Harrison. Go Lady Jackets!
