The EMS Media Center hosts two book fairs each year. The book fairs will be held each semester during the week of Parent-Teacher Conferences. This allows students to purchase quality literature at affordable prices!

The EMS Media Center promotes the love of reading with our district’s Off the Shelf Reading Program.

Off the Shelf is an optional reading incentive designed to motivate, encourage, and reward students for reading a variety of books. Students will not receive a grade for participating and participation is not required. Students will be given their first Off the Shelf card. Each time students read a book in one of the categories, they will write the title, author/illustrator, and get a parent, teacher, or librarian to initial. Off the Shelf encourages students to be resourceful in order to find different kinds of books and encourages them to read a wide variety of themes. Students will have opportunities to win prizes and an opportunity to attend our end of the year Off the Shelf reward party.
